Jonathan Ryan McDougal, 29, of Champaign was taken to heaven by angels at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011. A life celebration was held on March 6, 2011, at 6 p.m. at The Vineyard Church, Urbana.

Jon was born on Dec. 3, 1981, the son of Kevin and Sandy McDougal. He attended school in Champaign and was formerly employed as a surgical dental assistant.

Jon leaves to cherish his fond memory a daughter, Peyton Parker McDougal of Tolono; his sister, Jenny Smith (Brian Smith) of Champaign; a fiancée, Kayla Frichtl of Champaign; his parents, Kevin McDougal of Dallas, Texas, and Sandy Erickson McDougal of Georgetown; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by an aunt; paternal grandparents, William and LaNell Bolden of Danville; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Lea Erickson of Georgetown.

He will truly be missed for his boundless love of family, friends, life, encouragement and determination.
