Welcome to an occasional feature on my blog where you get to hear a little about my life- behind the camera! Keep scrolling to see lots of images from recent sessions!
Saturday mornings the studio is open, and I often have sessions, and lots of Saturday afternoons/evenings are booked for either Phil or me for events or other work related things. This past Saturday I had a baby session in the morning, but both of us were free in the afternoon! All last week Phil had been working later than normal to finish up a project, so with a free Saturday afternoon and temps over 50 degrees, we decided to head out for some hiking and family time.
Of course, on the way, I made a quick stop at a junk store. I love thrifting for props or other things for the studio. I love having projects to work on, and one of my goals this year is to include more items that I make or fix up in my sessions. I picked up two large numbers and several big scraps of new fabric. Total cost? $3! That’s another reason I like to thrift for my props! I plan to paint the numbers a darker color, and I am thinking some banners or something fun with the fabric- perfect for baby girls in the studio!
We had fun hiking at the park for the rest of the afternoon, and then of course we needed a warm snack, so we stopped by Starbucks on the way home, and also hit the grocery store for the not so fun (but necessary) part of the day.
After unloading groceries, dinner, and getting the girls to bed- date night! We love to watch movies, but we’ve really been striking out lately on finding any well done movies. We decided to do some digging back a few years, and came up with “The Ghost Writer”. It was really well done- yay! Finally a good movie night! Of course, more coffee and cookies made it even better.
Hard to have a better day with the people I love most! :) Oh, and I didn’t bring my big camera, so enjoy the cell pics. Sometimes it’s just better to have fun and not think about picture quality. ;)
