How far in advance should I book my session?
At least several weeks notice is encouraged. During the Fall and Christmas season I book up quickly, far in advance.
How long will my session last?
This varies a lot with what type of session I am shooting and how many people and outfit changes are involved. Because most of my sessions involve children, I do work quickly. I rarely go over an hour for a session, except seniors or extended family sessions.
How many people can be included in the photos?
As many people as are in your immediate family for no extra charge. If you would like a few pictures with Grandma and Grandpa or another family member during your session, that is totally fine and no extra charge. Extended families have their own pricing.
Can I request specific photos to be taken? Yes, I am always open to hear what you have in mind, and always willing to try specific poses you suggest. I do recommend only bringing a couple ideas, as too many can get overwhelming for everyone.
What do we need to bring?
You are welcome to bring clothing changes for full sessions. I have a variety of props that I use with my session so no need to bring those along unless there is something that is important to be included in the photos.
If it rains, do you have a studio to shoot at?
I can move sessions to my studio in case of bad weather, but if you want outdoor photos I leave enough time in my schedule to be able to move your session to a better day without any problems.
Will these images be posted online or any social networks?
I do blog every session and post previews on social media if you want.
When is the best time of year to schedule my session?
For outdoor sessions, I work April through October. I work in my studio year round.
What if my children act up on the day of the shoot and we can’t get any good photos?
“Acting up” really doesn’t faze me. I’ve been photographing children for a long time. I tend to let them take the lead and you would be surprised at the portraits you end up with most of the time! If it really is an off day for you child I do offer 1 reshoot at no additional charge. I also do most of my child sessions first thing in the morning, so that everyone is fresh and happy.
How long have you been shooting portrait sessions?
A long time! I started as a hobbyist in 2005 and started with clients in 2007.
How long does it take to get the photos back?
You will see your proof gallery within 1 week of your session most of the time. It is very important to me to get your proofs back to you as quickly as I can.
What should I/we wear?
I will include more information about this for you after you have booked a session with me.
What products do you offer?
I offer prints, canvases, albums, etc or digital files.
If we end up needing more time on the day of the session, can it be added on then?
I leave a lot of room for you! So if we need more time for a shy child or you have more poses you want, I am more than happy to give it you.
What days are you available to shoot portrait sessions?
I take sessions Monday through Saturday. I don’t take sessions on a Sunday unless I have to reschedule for weather.
How many photos will we receive? Because I shoot with more of a relaxed style, I tend to include a lot of images of each pose. I don’t have a set number that I say per session, but babies generally have 30-50 images per session, and families 45-70+. I want you to be able to see everything that turned out well. These are sent to you as proofs via an online gallery, and you are then able to choose if you would like to purchase prints or digital images.
Can I order more prints/products later?
Your gallery stays up to order for 4 weeks.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, Check or Credit are accepted for session fees. All of my print ordering is done online.
