I had a great time doing Shana’s senior pictures! She came out to the studio with a ton of outfits and accessories, and lots of family and her boyfriend to be a part of the fun. :)
We did her location pictures at her parents place- which was perfect for pictures! I did manage to somewhat fall into their pond, and then laid in the dirt to get the perfect angle, so I was a mess when I left. But that means it was a good session! :)
Shana, I hope you have a great senior year! You are sweet and gorgeous, and it was great working with you!
A while back, I headed out to Paxton for a Senior session with Ahlden. I knew when I was emailing Ahlden about his session that we had to do something with football. I am so glad we did. The pictures looked amazing out on the field, and I had fun trying some new things! Ahlden and his parents were awesome to work with, and it was a great session!
Ahlden, thanks for not making fun of me for knowing nothing about football! I hope you have an amazing senior year!
Senior Picture time is Here! I’ve been working with Seniors since the class of 2008, and I’ve picked up a few tips on clothing along the way.
1) Pack Heavy!
I love it when Seniors come into my studio with a huge bag of stuff! That gives us options, and the more options the better! We don’t have to use everything you bring, but it helps to have a lot of variety to work with.
Dresses are fun, in the studio, and outside!
2) All Seasons
Even if it’s hot, or freezing cold, bring a variety of seasons. Even if it’s summer, I bet you have a favorite jacket or boots, etc. Bring them along, and I will turn up the a/c! :) Layers are cute, even in summer… and your favorite sun dress will look good, even as it gets cooler out.
Long sleeves look good in every season, and jackets with hoods are always cute!
I love it when girls come into the studio with accessories for each outfit. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, hats, scarves, shoes. Bring it all!
Accessories add interesting detail.
Be sure to bring something that you do with your spare time. Sports uniforms and other items, musical instruments, hobby items, etc are great for pics! If you have a favorite past-time but aren’t sure how to incorporate it into your pictures, let me know, I have lots of ideas!
If you are involved in sports, be sure to bring your uniforms!
A lot of sleeveless shirts, some are ok, but sleeves or at least straps are better for close-ups.
Just Shorts. Some poses are going to look better in jeans or capris, so make sure you bring those too.
Clothes that aren’t you… you won’t like the end result.
Cars or trucks are great for outdoor pictures.
Most guys aren’t bringing me as many outfits to their session as girls. But I still like a lot of variety.
Jeans, shorts, t-shirts, nicer shirts, the more you bring the better. Bring your favorites- things you feel comfortable in.
Bring a range from dress shirts, to t-shirts.
Since guys usually aren’t as into the clothes, I really encourage you to bring “other stuff”. Sports uniforms and items, cars/trucks/motorcycles, musical instruments, and just about anything else!
It’s worth tracking down your sports uniforms and equipment for your pictures.
If you play a musical instruments, bring them along! The more, the better!
Paying attention to these details will go a long way to making your seniors pictures even better!
I am excited to work with even more of you from the class of 2012!
It’s your Senior year! Be yourself. Look Amazing!
A few weeks back, Jalaine came by the studio, and we started in on her Senior session. She brought some great outfits, and I had fun with some dramatic lighting in the studio with some of her poses
. After that, we headed outside, and did the rest of the pictures around town. Jalaine’s style looked amazing with some of my favorite “grungy” settings, so I had fun with it!
Jalaine, you are adorable and so sweet! I hope these pictures make you smile today!
I had a fun session with Brooke a few weeks back. We started out in the studio, and then headed out to a local park. Brooke brought a dress and a big hat to go with it. Details like that make your senior pictures fun and unique! It was the perfect combination with my white chair and a weeping willow tree background.
Brooke, you are sweet and beautiful! I hope your senior year is amazing!
Several weeks back (I’m am catching up on my blogging!) I had a senior session with Shannon. She was incredibly graceful in front of the camera, and I really enjoyed working with her. She brought a great mixture of clothes- some casual, some dresses, and even some winter shirts- which is perfect! Even though it’s hot out, I love it when seniors bring a mixture of seasons in their outfits to choose from. Just gives us more options. And I can crank up the air conditioning if I need to! :)
I love trying fun poses, and looking for great locations to work with personalities, props you bring, and outfit styles. I have an awesome job! :)
It was hot out for our location portion of the session, but we still got some great shots. We did some out in the open grass, and then back into town for some rustic shots.
It was great working with you, Shannon!
I love working with Senior girls, and I am having fun moving my work toward more fashion inspired looks. Bri came in a couple weeks back, and told me right away that she is not photogenic. I told her not to worry- it’s my job to make you look your best! I love that part of my job. I help pick out outfits for backgrounds or scenery, and I guide you with each detail of posing so that you will look amazing in your pictures!
Bri, you did a great job, and you look gorgeous in all the pictures!
I always have my eyes open for great locations for pictures, and sometimes I think I have so many in my head, I can’t always remember them all! Before my session with Jeffrey, I was trying hard to think of a good place to go for the outside pictures, and then I remembered that Jeffrey’s mom had mentioned that he loved architecture, and was there an old bridge or rail road tracks we could use? I instantly thought of the perfect place! We lived down the road from and awesome, old metal bridge for about a year, and there are some rail road tracks not far from there. Perfect! We had a great session, and I enjoyed my time with Jeffrey and his mom.
